Reader’s Question:
If I am involved in a vehicular accident but I don’t have automobile insurance, will the other party car insurance company pay for the damages incurred on my car? Let’s say it is totally not my fault. What would happen? I am from North Cleveland, Oklahoma if that information would help you.
Petty
North Cleveland, OK
From what I know the answer to your question would be yes. However, that depends if the at fault party has auto insurance coverage. But, if the fault is shared between the parties involved (let’s say 50-50 at fault for both parties involved) then usually what happens is that the other party’s auto insurance company will cover for the damages incurred on that person’s part. The damage incurred on your car would only be covered if he or she has uninsured motorist insurance policy.
I just wanna inform you though that Uninsured Motorist policy is not mandatory in your state. It’s just an optional car insurance coverage. However, the best advise that I could give you is not to drive without auto insurance because that is against the law. And there are penalties and fines if you violate that law.
If you have additional questions about auto insurance claims in North Cleveland, Oklahoma I would suggest asking your auto insurance agent. If you are shopping are shopping for auto insurance rates in your area, you could use the websites.
