Reader’s Question:
How long does it take for a accident to be removed from your driving record in Providence, Rhode Island?
Robie
Providence, RI
The Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles states that driving records are processed through the Operator Control division of the Department of Motor Vehicle.
In addition, they said that a driving record includes any special license classifications (CDL), restrictions, and a list of any accidents, tickets and/or suspensions you may have acquired in the last three years.
The Rhode Island Department of Motor Vehicle does not mention if the infractions and accidents in Providence are taken off after a three year period or not so you may contact them directly to find out. You may call the Operator Control section at (401) 721-2650 or contact them through their Division of Motor Vehicles website.
